This policy explains what personal information Goerrands collects, why we collect it, who sees it and what choices you have.
1. Who we are
Goerrands is a bike delivery service in Benin City, Nigeria. We decide how your personal information is used. You can reach us at goerrands@goerrands.online.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your name, phone number and email address. Your password is stored in scrambled form, so we cannot read it.
- Order details: pickup and drop-off areas and addresses, what you are sending, the sender and receiver names and phone numbers, the price and the status.
- Payment details: online payments are handled by Paystack. We receive a payment reference and confirmation, and we never see or store your card number.
- Messages and ratings: questions and complaints you send us, our replies, and ratings you give riders.
- Technical data: a login code saved in your browser, and basic server records such as your IP address, which we use to keep the service secure.
3. Why we use it
- to arrange, deliver and track your orders
- to run your account and let you sign in
- to take payments and keep records of them
- to answer your questions and complaints
- to keep riders, customers and the service safe, and to prevent fraud and misuse
- to meet our legal obligations
4. Who we share it with
- Your rider: the rider assigned to an order sees the pickup and drop-off addresses, the item description and the sender and receiver names and phone numbers for that order.
- Paystack: processes online payments.
- Service providers: our website hosting and email providers, who handle data for us so the service can run.
- Authorities: if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account and order records while your account is active and for as long as we need them for support, disputes, accounting and legal reasons. You can ask us to delete your account. We may keep some records if the law or a dispute requires it.
6. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you may ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent where we rely on it. To do any of these, contact us. You can also delete your account yourself in My account, or ask us to delete it. When an account is deleted, we remove your name, phone number, email address and messages. We may keep order records without your name for accounting and legal reasons. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
7. Security
Our website uses HTTPS, passwords are stored in scrambled form, and access to customer information is limited. No system is completely secure, so please keep your password private.
8. Browser storage
We save a login code and a few small settings in your browser so you stay signed in and the app works smoothly. We do not use advertising cookies.
9. Children
Goerrands is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
